Project: California Great Room
Designer: Tom Richard

A great room facing the beautiful shore of the Pacific is the setting for these beautiful and large scale custom residential lighting chandeliers and coordinating fireplace sconces.

The dimensions for the large chandelier are 8’ tall by 8’ wide.

The chandelier was too large to ship and install as a complete fixture so we designed it to be assembled at the jobsite.   You will see from the photos that we created a center wire way with arms that would lock onto the center hub.

The chandelier was fabricated out of aluminum to reduce the weight and make it easier to assemble.  The finish is a custom powder coat with custom fabric shades that are suspended over 3 candelabra lamps.  The chandelier was mounted to a motor hidden in the ceiling which allows the fixtures to be lowered for cleaning and re-lamping.

The large custom residential lighting great room chandelier is 96” wide by 96” high and its all aluminum body was engineered to be shipped in sections and assembled at the project by Old California staff.  The long narrow chandelier was designed to complement the great room chandelier and was installed in the stairwell.

The finish is a powder coat “bronze” base coat with multiple coats of dry brush accent colors.  Two electrical circuits were supplied so the customer could control the upper and lower lighting elements on separate dimmer switches.  Custom fabric shades are made of ivory linen and supported by a center stem.  Custom mounting plates were designed to cover electric motors in the ceiling that raise and lower each chandelier for cleaning andre-lamping.  Double arm wall sconces were designed to coordinate with the arm details on the chandelier.
